Zion & Lennox’s ‘Hola’ Lands Atop The Latin Airplay Chart

Zion & Lennox soar to the top of the Latin Airplay chart as their new single “Hola” steps 4-1 on the list dated Dec. 22.

The song tops the ranking in its 14th week thanks to a 23 percent boost in audience impressions (to 13 million) in the week ending Dec. 16, according to Nielsen Music.

“Hola” is the Puerto Rican duo’s 23rd career entry on the Latin Airplay chart and seventh No. 1, three of which were achieved in 2018: “La Player (Bandolera)” led the tally on June 30, “No Es Justo” with J Balvin arrived at the summit on Nov. 24, and “Hola” tops the current tracking week.

The tune concurrently lands atop the Latin Rhythm and Latin Pop Songs airplay charts, gliding 4-1 and 3-1, respectively.

Over on the Hot Latin Songs chart, which blends airplay, digital sales, and streaming activity, “Hola” moves up 8 slots (28-20), entering the top 20 for the first time despite suffering a 5 percent dip in streams. It bests their previous chart entry “No Quiero Amarte” with Justin Quiles, a No. 48 peak (Oct. 6).

Meanwhile, back on the Latin Airplay chart, cumbia sonidera group Los Angeles Azules make their first chart top 10 appearance in over 18 years with “Nunca Es Suficiente” featuring Natalia Lafourcade.

The tune cracks the top 10 barrier with a 17-8 slide, rising to 9.5 million is Latin audience, a gain of 32 percent.

The move earns them their third top 10 dating back to 1997 when “Como Te Voy a Olvidar,” their first chart entry, peaked at No. 7 (Feb. 22). “El Liston De Tu Pelo,” another top 10, arrived three years later (March 25, 2000, a No. 4 peak).

Christian Nodal and Virlan García Rise: Over on the Regional Mexican Songs airplay chart, Christian Nodal logs his fifth consecutive chart leader as “No Te Contaron Mal” hits No. 1 after six consecutive weeks as runner up. The song rises 2-1 with a 21 percent gain in audience (to 11 million).

Notably, Nodal’s five leaders have arrived in less than two years, three of which he earned in 2018: “Me Dejé Llevar” (March 3), “Te Fallé” (Aug. 11), and “No Te Contaron Mal” (Dec. 22).

Meanwhile, down the list, Virlan García notches his second top 10 as “Quiero Reintentarlo”  jumps 11-7 with a 6 million in audience at the format (up 20 percent). It bests his previous No. 9 peak with “Mi Vida Eres Tú” (March 3).
