Grammy Award-winning producer and artist Zedd has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group. The real-life Anton Zaslavski has scored multiple chart hits since breaking onto the scene with 2012's Clarity, which featured the Foxes-assisted title track and "Stay the Night" with Paramore's Hayley Williams.
Zedd's other singles as an artist include "I Want You to Know" feat. Selena Gomez, "True Colors" with Kesha and a new single with Alessia Cara, called "Stay" (listen below). As a producer, Zedd has worked with Justin Bieber ("Beauty and a Beat"), Lady Gaga ("Aura", "G.U.Y.") and Ariana Grande ("Break Free"), among others.
The German artist comes to UMPG from Kobalt. Through this new deal, UMPG will also represent two of Zedd’s frequent collaborators, producer Lophiile and the American duo Grey, which teamed with Hailee Seinfeld and Zedd on last year's "Starving."
"We are thrilled Zedd and his team chose to move his catalogue to Universal Music Publishing," said UMPG chairman and CEO Jody Gerson. He is a gifted musician and we couldn’t be more excited to help expand his opportunities as a songwriter, producer and artist across the globe."
Zedd is currently organizing a concert to benefit the ACLU, scheduled for April 3 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
