Yung Gravy makes his Billboard chart debut this week, entering the Emerging Artists survey (dated June 15) at No. 7.
Sensational, the first LP from the rapper/trap singer (real name: Matthew Hauri, 23), arrives at No. 30 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with 12,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music. The set, which includes guests Juicy J and Lil Baby, among others, concurrently debuts at No. 52 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
The Emerging Artists chart ranks the most popular developing artists of the week, using the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. (The Artist 100 lists the most popular acts, overall, each week.) However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard‘s “Hot” song genre charts and/or consumption-based “Top” album genre rankings.
City Girls log their 10th week at No. 1 on Emerging Artists, as their single “Act Up” rises 31-28 on the Hot 100, marking a new peak for both the song and duo; the pair’s prior entry, “Twerk,” featuring Cardi B, hit No. 29 in February.
Rounding out the Emerging Artists top five, Lauv rises 4-2, Lewis Capaldi holds at No. 3, Calboy jumps 6-4 and Gabbie Hanna re-enters at No. 5, as her new effort 2WAYMIRROR enters the Billboard 200 at No. 126 (7,000 units).
Atlanta’s Blanco Brown makes his Billboard chart debut, arriving at No. 41 on Emerging Artists, as “The Git Up” begins at No. 16 on Country Digital Song Sales (4,000 downloads sold) and No. 38 on Hot Country Songs.
Plus, Dominic Fike arrives at No. 50 on Emerging Artists, as the Naples, Florida, native’s breakout track “3 Nights” continues scaling Alternative Songs and Rock Airplay, reaching a new No. 19 high on each ranking.
