Yes drummer Alan White says he will rejoin the group on the road “in the near future,” after leaving tour in the spring to undergo back surgery.
In a letter posted to the seminal prog rock band’s website, White explained that after leaving halfway through Yes’ spring European tour, he has been working with spinal specialists in Europe and America to explore treatment options. Eventually, he underwent surgery to repair an injured disc in his lower back, which he said had a “very positive result.”
“With some rest and physical therapy, I should be back in good form and ready to rejoin the Summer YES Tour in the near future,” he wrote in the message. “I’m eager to be on the road with the band but also need to ensure my recovery is complete before doing so.”
“Please know that I’ll be back as soon as physically possible and looking forward to taking my place on stage with the band,” White wrote.
Yes’ summer tour dates kick off July 25 at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and ends on Sept. 4 at Humphrey’s in San Diego, California.
