A six-minute Facebook Live set from Yanni grants the pianist the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Facebook Live Videos chart, powered by Shareablee, for May 2019.
The chart, the latest of which recaps May 2019 activity, is a monthly look at the widest-reaching and most-reacted-to videos posted by musicians on Facebook Live, as tracked by media analytics company Shareablee. Rankings are determined by a formula that blends reactions, comments, shares and first-seven-days views.
Yanni uploaded a May 16 performance that mashed up “Butterfly Dance” with “Ladyhawk’s Theme.” The set was meant to promote his then-upcoming five-night residency at New York’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, which occurred from May 28-29 and May 31-June 2.
The clip led all Facebook Live uploads from musicians in May 2019 in reactions (72,000) and views in its first seven days (2.1 million), according to Shareablee. In fact, it was the only video by a musician to break the 1 million mark in its first seven days the entire month. The video also earned 12,000 shares and 9,000 comments.
Yanni’s video surpassed a May 30 upload from Keith Urban, who also performed an impromptu concert. In Urban’s case, his 23-minute clip showcased the country singer playing requests from his followers on acoustic guitar.
The video was one of the most-commented-on clips by a musician in the tracking month (30,000), along with 460,000 views in its first seven days, 5,000 shares and 33,000 reactions.
