Puerto Rican urban artist Yandel bows at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums (chart dated Nov. 28) with his latest studio release, Dangerous (5,000 copies sold in the week ending Nov. 12, according to Nielsen Music). It’s the chart veteran’s second solo No. 1 following De Lider a Leyenda, which started with 6,000 in 2013. (He also led the list five times as half of reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel.)
In addition, on Latin Rhythm Albums, the set starts at No. 1. When combined with his chart-toppers as part of Wisin & Yandel, brings his total to 11. Meanwhile, Yandel’s single “Encantadora” hops 22-18 on Hot Latin Songs, marking his seventh trip to the top 20.
Ariel Camacho Debuts: Meanwhile, regional Mexican act Ariel Camacho y Los Plebes del Rancho take the second highest entrance as Hablemos arrives with 2,000 units. The album comes nine months since lead singer Camacho died in a car accident at the age of 22.
Since his death, four tracks from the act have debuted on Hot Latin Songs. Those include “El Rey de Corazones” (which peaks this week, hopping 45-42) and “Hablemos” (which also reaches a new high — stepping 15-14 in its fourth charting week).
Banda Sinaloense Soars onto Hot Latin Songs: Scoring the Hot Shot Debut on Hot Latin Songs is Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga’s “Solo Con Verte” at No. 15. Streaming is the biggest factor contributing to the debut, due in part to the Nov. 9 release of the track’s music video, which has amassed 3.7 million worldwide YouTube views.
The song jumps 4-1 on Regional Mexican Digital Songs in its second week (up 212 percent, to 2,000 downloads), earning the group its fifth No. 1 on the list. The rise ties the band with Calibre 50, Gerardo Ortiz and Jenni Rivera for the most chart-toppers on the 5-year-old tally.
