Yams Day is returning to Brooklyn next year. The A$AP Mob announced on Wednesday (Nov. 13) that Yams Day 2020 is set for Jan. 17 at the Barclays Center. The fifth annual show will feature the entire Mob and some unlisted friends as special guests, but additional artists will be announced at a later date.
Tickets go on sale on Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster. A portion of all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Always Strive and Prosper Foundation, which was founded by Yams’ mother, Tatianna Rodriguez. Yams passed away due to a drug overdose in 2015.
Wednesday (Nov. 13) also commemorates what would have been Yams’ 31st birthday. A$AP Rocky shared a video remembering his close friend with a clip featuring a wavy Yams from one of their trips to London. “BACKSTORY BEHIND THIS VIDEO IZ WE LOST YAMS IN LONDON FOR HOURS , WE RANDOMLY FOUND HIM HOURS LATER BUT HE WAS TOO LIT TO BE UPSET AT BY THEN , LOL , HAPPY BIRTHDAY YAMBO @wavybone LOVE U,” Rocky wrote.
