Wisin & Ozuna’s ‘Escapate Conmigo’ Soars on Hot Latin Songs Chart

Wisin’s “Escapate Conmigo,” featuring Ozuna, flies 48-15 on the Hot Latin Songs chart (dated April 22) following the release of its music video. The reggaeton track earned 1.4 million streams in the tracking week ending April 6, according to Nielsen Music – up 255 percent, and earning the Greatest Gainer tag on the tally. Of its streams for the week, 62 percent stem from YouTube where an official clip was released on March 30.

The rise marks Wisin’s 12th trip to the top 20 since launching his solo career – adding to the 26 top 20 hits that he earned as part of Wisin & Yandel between 2006 and 2012.
“Escapate” also earns Airplay Gainer honors, with a 213 percent hike (to 4.4 million audience impressions in the week ending April 9). The increase triggers a No. 30 start on the Latin Airplay chart, Wisin’s best entrance (as a lead act) since 2014, when “Adrenalina,” featuring Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin, bowed at No. 8.
The chart lift for “Escapate” adds to its featured artist Ozuna’s growing chart successes, becoming the rising Puerto Rican urban act’s second-best chart peak on Hot Latin Songs to date. Further, three more of his songs simultaneously reach new highs during the current chart frame: “Dile Que Tu Me Quieres” hops 10-8 in its 31st week; “La Rompe Corazones,” with Daddy Yankee, rises 46-43 in its second week; and “Ahora Dice” (Chris Jeday with J Balvin, Ozuna and Arcangel) jumps 26-17. Ozuna also rises 49-42 with “Te Vas” (which peaked at No. 41 in February), making five total concurrently charting songs on the chart – more than any other act on the current ranking. Since his debut one year ago, he has earned 12 Hot Latin Songs hits.
“Dile Que Tu Me Quieres” is the oldest song on the chart, having debuted on the Sept. 24 dated list. It meets a new peak due to climbs at radio and streaming. On-air, the track is up 7 percent (to 8.9 million audience impressions), also earning a new peak on Latin Airplay where it hops 14-11. Streaming is up 5 percent, to 2.8 million weekly U.S. streams – its highest weekly stream total yet.
Notably, Ozuna – who has yet to sign with a major label – had six songs on the Feb. 11-dated chart, a feat that has only been achieved by four other acts in the 30-year history of the chart. Joan Sebastian had 11 concurrently charting songs after he died in 2015, Juan Gabriel’s death spurred 10 concurrently charting songs, Romeo Santos has had eight and Los Plebes del Rancho de Ariel Camacho have had seven at one time.
