Anghami, the Middle East and North Africa’s biggest streaming service, has announced a new strategic partnership with Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, CEO and founder of SAL&CO.
Slaiby will act as Anghami’s head of international partnerships, focusing on building collaborations with artists, producers and managers worldwide. He will also help identify and facilitate marketing and brand partnerships with the aim of expanding Anghami’s global reach. Currently, Anghami claims over 57 million users around the region.
As a Lebanese native, in a statement Slaiby said he is “proud to see a company from my hometown make it in the streaming world and give the Arabic music a whole new life with the young generation.”
Earlier this year, Slaiby — who co-manages The Weeknd — was ranked No. 52 on Billboard’s Power 100 list. Last year he joined the Maverick management team, adding French Montana and a number of songwriter-producers to the roster, including Belly, who co-wrote “6 Inch” for Beyoncé’s Lemonade; Ben Billions, who co-produced Future’s “Low Life”; and frequent Weeknd collaborators DaHeala and Danny Boy Styles.
The Anghami announcement was made at the company’s headquarters in Beirut, Lebanon, during a celebration for its fifth anniversary.
