Wasserman Music announced the acquisition of Paradigm Music U.K.’s live music representation business on Tuesday (April 26), pushing the agency further into Europe.
Under the terms of the deal, U.K. partners Dave Hallybone, Alex Hardee, Tom Schroeder and James Whitting will join Wasserman Music Management’s executive team. In a statement, Casey Wasserman praised all four men, noting that they “not only persevered through a once in a lifetime pandemic, but prioritized their clients and partnerships in a way that is consistent with our values and commitment to talent.”
“With live music coming back huge this year, we’re confident that together we can secure the health, success and growth of our clients’ careers throughout the world,” added Marty Diamond, Wasserman’s Music executive vp & managing executive.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hallybone, Hardee, Schroeder and Whitting originally founded CODA Agency in 2002. They partnered with Paradigm in 2014 before going fully under the Paradigm umbrella in 2019. “The pandemic was incredibly testing for the industry,” Schroeder said in a statement. “It really made us all look at everything we have achieved and where we were going. What we saw in Wasserman was a company very different from others — dynamic, fast-moving, open, and honest.”
Wasserman Music launched roughly a year ago when Wasserman Agency bought Paradigm’s North American live music representation business from founder Sam Gores and his brother Tom Gores. “The new business unit is devoted to the representation of music artists and their development,” the company explained at the time. “Wasserman Music and its marquee roster of world-renowned artists joins the Wasserman team united by a universal vision, common values, and a singular sense of purpose. The intersection of sports, entertainment, lifestyle marketing, culture, and music comprises the foundation of Wasserman’s business and has fueled its success for close to 20 years.”
Wasserman Music’s roster encompasses globally represented acts like Billie Eilish, Drake, Frank Ocean, Kacey Musgraves, Kenny Chesney, Pharrell, and many more. Bringing the U.K. client roster into the fold will mean that Wasserman Music will now handle representation outside of North America for Bon Iver, FKA twigs, Robyn, Shawn Mendes, and others.
