Calvin Harris‘ latest single, “Slide,” was released at midnight on Friday (Feb. 24) and hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 within an hour. As of 11 a.m. ET, the song remains in the top spot. The track features R&B singer Frank Ocean and hip-hop trio Migos.
The Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 chart measures the real-time acceleration of conversation around artists and their music on Twitter.
Harris released a preview of the single on his official Vevo channel late Thursday night, and the clip has since garnered more than 230,000 views. “Slide” is his first single release since “My Way,” which peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 2016.
Meanwhile, Ocean and Migos continue their own chart momentum. Ocean’s album Blonde debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart on Sep. 10, 2016. Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” (featuring Lil Uzi Vert) spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 (beginning Jan. 21), while their second studio album, Culture, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on Feb. 18, and has remained in the top five of the list since.
