Trippie Redd’s ‘Pegasus’ Flies Into No. 1 Slot on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums
Trippie Redd collects a third No. 1 as Pegasus flies in with 60,000 units, and becomes the fifth artist to have three No. 1s in the past two years.

Trippie Redd collects a new No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart as Pegasus flies in atop the list dated Nov. 14. The project earned 60,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Nov. 5, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Pegasus gives the Ohio native his third chart-topper on the ranking, following A Love Letter to You 3, which reigned for one week in November 2018 and A Love Letter to You 4, which also posted one week in charge, in December 2019.
With Pegasus’ arrival, Trippie Redd becomes the fifth act to have accumulated three No. 1s on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums since November 2018. Future and YoungBoy Never Broke Again have each achieved four leaders, while Trippie Redd matches Drake and Juice WRLD at three apiece.
As is the case with nearly all hip-hop projects in recent years, the heavy majority of Pegasus’ first week activity derives from streams. 56,000 of its 60,000 units come from streams, equaling 79.22 million on-demand plays of the album’s songs in its opening week.
Big streaming numbers push a few of the album’s 26 songs onto other Billboard charts. “Weeeeee” debuts at No. 25 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, marking the fifth-best debut of Trippie Redd’s 28 charted titles to date. He’s only started higher with the Juice WRLD collaboration, “Tell Me U Luv Me” (No. 15, in June), a featured turn on XXXTentacion’s “F–k Love” (No. 18, 2017), “Taking a Walk” (No. 22, 2018), and “1400 / 999 Freestyle,” featuring Juice WRLD (No. 24, 2018).
In addition, “Never Change,” featuring Future, debuts at No. 41, while Pegasus single “Excitement!,” with PARTYNEXTDOOR, returns to the chart at No. 39 after having previously reached a No. 48 best in October.
“Excitement!” also shoots 17-6 on the Hot R&B Songs chart, overcoming its previous high of No. 8 in September. Three other Pegasus cuts arrive on Hot R&B Songs: “Love Scars 4” (No. 15), “Let It Out,” featuring Myiah Lynnae (No. 21) and “Mood,” featuring Chris Brown (No. 23).
