Trey Songz Scores Third No. 1 on Top R&B Albums With ‘Back Home’

As it enters at No. 1 on Top R&B Albums, Back Home also becomes the R&B singer-songwriter's 10th top 10 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Trey Songz earns his third No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart as Back Home debuts at the summit on the list dated Oct. 24. The set pulled 24,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Oct. 15, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Of Home’s first-week figure, the majority – 19,000 of its 24,000 units, come from streaming of the album (One unit equals 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.) 5,000 units derive from traditional album sales (each unit here equals 1 album sale) and the remaining 1,000 are made up of track-equivalent albums (10 individual tracks sold from an album equals one unit.)

As mentioned above, Home marks Songz’s third leader on the Top R&B Albums chart, following Trigga, a five-week champ in 2014 and Tremaine The Album, which led for one week in 2017.

Notably, the Top R&B albums chart began in 2012, seven years after Songz’s first charted albums landed in 2005. On the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, which encompasses the singer’s entire career, Back Home enters at No. 9 to secure his 10th top 10 album there. Here’s a full rundown of his top 10 collection:
