Trevor Daniel Tops Emerging Artists Chart, Thanks to ‘Falling’ Single

Trevor Daniel tops Billboard‘s Emerging Artists chart (dated Feb. 1), rising 3-1 to become the top emerging act in the U.S. for the first time, thanks to his breakout single “Falling,” which returns to the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 37.

“Falling,” which has hit a No. 31 Hot 100 high so far, gains in all three of the chart’s metrics, drawing 17.2 million U.S. streams (up 8%), 7.2 million airplay audience impressions (up 34%) and 3,000 downloads sold (up 7%) in the latest tracking week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

The track also climbs to No. 25 on the Rhythmic Songs airplay chart and No. 27 on Pop Songs.

Daniel’s Emerging Artists coronation is also aided by his EP Homesick, which rises 67-65 on the Billboard 200 with 10,000 equivalent album units.

Rounding out the Emerging Artists top five, NLE Choppa dips to No. 2 after 16 weeks at the summit; Don Toliver lifts 4-3; Gabby Barrett climbs 5-4; and Jimmie Allen ascends 6-5.

Plus, Pinegrove debuts at No. 10 on Emerging Artists, as its fourth LP, Marigold, arrives at No. 10 on Alternative Albums, No. 25 on Top Rock Albums and No. 176 on the Billboard 200 with 6,000 units, marking the New Jersey band’s first entry on the lattermost list.
