Tory Lanez’s Team Allegedly Sent Emails From Fake 300 Entertainment Account to ‘Campaign Press’ for Megan Thee Stallion Incident (Exclusive)

A source close to the Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion situation speaks on the incident and alleges that Lanez's team created fake emails under 300 Entertainment -- Megan's label -- to go against…

A source close to the Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion situation alleges that Lanez’s team sent several emails to media outlets this month, pretending to be a representative of 300 Entertainment — Megan’s record label — to  “campaign press” on his behalf, after he allegedly fired four shots from outside of his vehicle in the Hollywood Hills on the night of July 12, with two bullets hitting Megan’s feet.

The source also alleges that Lanez’s team created fake text message conversations between Megan and Lanez, and sent them to various media outlets. A screenshot of an email, sent to Billboard from a different anonymous source, included a fake email account for 300’s Head of Creative, Kevin Leong, that was allegedly created by Lanez’s team. The email contained a link to a report that claimed that Megan did not want to testify against Lanez.

In a statement to Billboard, 300 Entertainment writes, “In this day and age, digital security is of utmost importance. The email impersonation of our Head of Creative Kevin Leong, with the intent to disseminate false information has been brought to our attention and we are working diligently on Megan’s behalf to get to the bottom of the matter.”

Meanwhile, a representative for Lanez — who released a new album, Daystar, last Friday (Sept. 25) — “strongly denies” that he was the one sending the emails or doctoring fake text messages. “The only commentary which has been made on this topic was the creative output on the album,” says the representative. “We are investigating who could be sending these false emails and intend to take action against them.”

According to the source, the alleged July 12 shooting occurred following a disagreement between the two artists. “[Lanez] was supposed to be dropping her off at home with her friend, and an argument ensued,” says the source. “He started calling her names. So she said she wanted to get out of the car. She got out of the car, walked away from the car, and at a short distance, he told her, ‘dance b—h’, pulled out a gun and shot [at] her four times. Two times hit her, one in each foot, and the other two missed her.

On his surprise album Daystar, Lanez addresses Megan’s allegations of what happened that night. Lanez denies firing the shots. On the intro track, “Money Over Fallouts,” he raps, “How the f–k you get shot in your foot, don’t hit no bones or tendons?” A source told Billboard that medical records from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center stated that shrapnel was found in the left heel area of Megan’s foot.

Following the incident, the source tells Billboard that Lanez reached out to Megan and offered his apology. “Tory starts texting her. He starts apologizing, saying, ‘I’m your friend. I love you. Please. I was just drunk. Call me. I wanna make this work.'”

According to the source, while Megan was in the midst of surgery to remove the bullets from her feet, Lanez reached out to her various team members and offered money to try to make amends. “He starts calling other people around her, including her friends after she gets out of jail, because she was also taken in [for questioning] ’cause she was there, and [Tory] was offering money, saying he wants to make it right and wants to resolve this issue. He starts calling her day-to-day managers and said he wants to talk to her, reaches out to the security guard, all of that.”

On July 27, Megan Thee Stallion went on Instagram Live and recounted the incident. Megan said she wasn’t arrested and was taken to the hospital following the incident. “I was shot in both of my feet, and I had to get surgery to get the s–t taken out, get the bullets taken out, and it was super scary,” she said in the video. Although she did not confirm that Lanez was the shooter at first, Megan later stated this during an Instagram Live in August.

According to information from the Los Angeles Sheriff Department, Lanez was arrested at 4:40 a.m. July 12 and charged with possession of a concealed weapon. He was not arrested for the discharge of the firearm. He is currently out on bond after posting a $35,000 bail.
