Big Grams grow 35-33 on the Alternative Songs airplay chart with “Lights On” (Republic/Epic). While it’s the act’s first charted song, the members are veterans of Billboard tallies: rapper Big Boi and electronic/alt duo Phantogram. The hypnotic track is from Big Grams’ self-titled debut EP, which bowed at No. 5 on Rap Albums, No. 9 on Alternative Albums and No. 38 on the Billboard 200 (Oct. 17). –Gary Trust (@gthot20)
Dougie F
New Jersey native Dougie F hangs just below the Rhythmic Songs chart with “On Purpose,” featuring Pitbull and 40 Cobras (Mr. 305). The dance-driven hip-hop track bounds by 46 percent in plays in the week ending Nov. 29, according to Nielsen Music, with 18 spins on WQHT New York in that span. French superstar Mylene Farmer, 54, is on the verge of her first charted single in the United States, as her cover of Sting’s 2003 song “Stolen Car,” with Sting himself, bubbles under Dance Club Songs.
