Tiesto & Ava Max’s ‘The Motto’ Debuts in Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Top 5

Plus, moves for Acraze, Lost Frequencies & Calum Scott, Elton John & Dua Lipa, Audien and TELYkast.

Tiesto and Ava Max burst onto Billboard‘s multimetric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated Nov. 20) at No. 4 with “The Motto.” The track earned 3.5 million U.S. streams and sold 1,500 downloads in the week ending Nov. 11, according to MRC Data.

It’s Tiesto’s sixth top 10 among 30 total chart hits, and his highest debut, ahead of “Don’t Be Shy,” with Karol G (No. 6, this August). That song achieved a No. 4 high, as well, in October, and currently sits at No. 6. Both are just shy of Tiesto’s highest-peaking tracks: “The Business” (No. 2, March) and “Jackie Chan,” with Dzeko and featuring Preme and Post Malone (No. 3, September 2018). “Red Lights” and “Wasted,” featuring Matthew Koma (both No. 5 hits 2014), round out Tiesto’s other top 10s on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, which premiered in January 2013.

“Motto,” Max’s third chart showing and first top 10, concurrently debuts at No. 5 on both Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs and Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales.

Two other tracks foray into the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs top 10 for the first time. First, Acraze cruises 12-7 with “Do It to It,” featuring Cherish, completing the first top 10 trip for each act. The track, whose profile has been boosted by a TikTok dance challenge, earns top Streaming Gainer honors for the second straight week, up 39% to 2.4 million U.S. streams, also good for a No. 13 bow on the Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs chart.

Up 26% to 1,800 downloads, “Do It” holds strong at No. 4 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales. Plus, it soars 9-3 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart.

Further on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Lost Frequencies and Calum Scott each claim first top 10s with “Where Are You Now” (11-10), pulling in 2.4 million streams.

Elton John and Dua Lipa triumph on yet another chart, ascending to the Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs summit with “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix).” The first leader for both acts, the multi-format hit is up 5% to 10.2 million streams.

“Heart” also rules Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for a fifth week, as it ups its weeks atop Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales (13) and Dance/Mix Show Airplay (four). The song holds at its No. 14 high on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, where it’s John’s highest rank since 1998.

Elsewhere, Audien adds his fourth top 10 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay with “Wish It Was You,” featuring Cate Downey, who earns her first (19-9). Plus, TELYKast bolts to its second top 10 with “Unbreakable,” with Sam Gray, who collects his first (16-10).
