TMZ reports that in a lawsuit filed Monday, rookie police officer Onyebuchi Awaji claims he did nothing to instigate a fight with the rapper before he was assaulted on March 29. The website had previously reported that The Game’s action was in self-defense, after Awaji threatened him through heated gameplay and by insinuating he had a gun in his gym bag.

The Game also allegedly fled the scene after punching Awaji, as soon as he heard police had been called.
