Thalia & Maluma Music Video Sparks Hot Latin Songs Rise

The urban/pop track earns the Streaming Gainer tag for the 95 percent increase in streams (to 626,000 weekly U.S. plays through the week ending March 24, according to Nielsen Music), aided by the March 18 premiere of the video clip.

The song previously peaked at No. 18 on the March 14 chart following a performance at Univision’s Premio Lo Nuestro (broadcast live Feb. 18) where the Mexican pop diva’s appearance triggered digital sales gains.

Over on Latin Pop Songs, “Desde Esa Noche” continues at No. 9 for a third straight week, with a five percent spike in plays at the format (through the week ending March 27. The track became Thalia’s 14th top 10 two weeks ago, making her only one of five female acts to place as many top 10s on the chart.

“Desde Esa Noche” is the lead single from the singer’s upcoming set, Latina, and became her 25th career charting entry on Hot Latin Songs on the March 5 dated chart.

Zion & Lennox Lift: Reggaeton duo Zion & Lennox’s “Embriagame” hits a new high on Latin Airplay, hopping 11-9 (up 17 percent to 8.7 million audience impressions).

The climb marks the fourth top 10 entry for the pair in their 11-year charting career, and marks the third in less than a year.

The Puerto Rican act first began charting in 2005, and have posted 14 songs on the list since. They earned their first top 10 in 2009 as a featured guest on Tito El Bambino’s “Mi Cama Huele A Ti” (No. 6 peak). Then, in 2015 “Pierdo La Cabeza” became their best charting track, rising to No. 2 (July 11 chart). The third top 10 also came in 2015, joining Tito El Bambino once again on “Como Antes” (No. 5 peak, Aug. 1 chart).

Zion & Lennox also find a new peak on Hot Latin Songs, where “Embriagame” steps 19-18 in its seventh charting week.

Yandel’s Solo Peak: A remix of Yandel’s “Encantadora,” featuring Farruko and Zion & Lennox (released March 18), causes the track to lift 5-3 on Hot Latin Songs, earning the reggaeton star a new solo career peak. A 95 percent hike in sales (to over 2,000 downloads), steered by the remix, gives  the track Digital Gainer honors. The song, in its 23rd charting week (and 14th week in the top 10), surpasses Yandel’s previous No. 5 peak with his 2013 hit, “Hable De Ti.”

While Yandel grasps a new solo chart peak, he reached the top three on Hot Latin Songs 12 times as half of the since parted duo Wisin & Yandel – including 10 No. 1s. The duo is tied with Mexican rock band Mana for most chart-toppers for a duo or group.
