Rapper Tech N9ne is set to collect his fourth top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart next week with his latest release, Special Effects. Industry forecasters suggest the album, which was released on May 4 through Strange Music, might move over 60,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 10.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Billboard 200’s top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, May 13.
Tech N9ne has visited the top 10 three times previously, most recently with 2014’s Strangeulation. He also hit the region with 2013’s Something Else and 2011’s All 6’s & 7’s.
Next week’s likely new No. 1 will be Mumford & Sons’ Wilder Mind, which is predicted to bow atop the list with over 260,000 units. It will give the rock band its second chart-topper, following 2012’s Babel.
Also heading for the top 10 is the latest Now That’s What I Call Music compilation, Now 54. The set could launch with 70,000 units. (All 53 of the numbered Now compilations have reached the top 10, and every volume since the second has debuted in the region.
