Taylor Swift No. 1, A$AP Rocky No. 2 on Billboard Artist 100

Swift narrowly fends off the rapper for her 27th week as the country's top act.

Taylor Swift defends her crown on the Billboard Artist 100 (dated June 13), as she leads the list for a 27th week. She remains the top musical act in the U.S. over A$AP Rocky, who roars in at No. 2.

The Artist 100 is the first weekly survey dedicated to measuring artist activity across Billboard’s most influential charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, Top Album Sales and the Social 50. The Artist 100 blends data measuring album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Swift stays atop the Artist 100 despite a 6 percent drop in overall activity. As previously reported, her “Bad Blood” (featuring Kendrick Lamar) falls 1-2 on the Hot 100 after it had vaulted 53-1 on the chart last week following its video premiere to open the Billboard Music Awards on May 17.

A$AP Rocky rockets onto the Artist 100 at No. 2, as his AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP launches at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales, beginning on the latter list with 117,000 in traditional album sales, according to Nielsen Music. Album sales account for 75 percent of the rapper’s Artist 100 activity.

Rounding out the Artist 100’s top five, Maroon 5 holds at No. 3; The Weeknd surges 11-4, as his new single “The Hills” enters the Hot 100 at No. 20; and Ed Sheeran remains at No. 5.

Also in the Artist 100’s top 10, Boosie BadAzz scores the chart’s top debut, arriving at No. 9. The rapper starts powered by his Touch Down 2 Cause Hell, which starts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales (59,000).
