Billy Burrs has joined The Syndicate as senior vp artist development and global commerce, it was announced Monday (Oct. 7).
Prior to joining The Syndicate, Burrs spent 15 years as senior vp rock music at RCA and helped launch 300 Entertainment, where he worked as head of promotion for five years.
“For so many years, we’ve admired Billy’s ability to break artists while paving the way for sustained careers,” said The Syndicate GM Graham Rothenberg. “It’s an honor to bring his incredible pedigree and depth of knowledge to The Syndicate.”
“I’ve been friends with Jon [Landman, Syndicate partner] for 15 years and used The Syndicate exclusively throughout my career,” added Burrs. “The passion, integrity and tenacity of their team always inspired me and it’s an honor to join the family. There’s a great energy and I look forward to offering my own promotion and DSP expertise.”
SESAC Nashville has promoted ET Brown and Lydia Schultz to senior director, creative services, the company announced Tuesday (Oct. 8). In their dual management roles, they will report to Sam Kling, senior vp creative operations.
Brown, who joined SESAC in 2009, will manage the pop/rock and Americana genres. Schultz, who joined SESAC in 2016, will manage the country genre.

Their passion for music and complementary skill sets, along with their close-knit relationships, only reinforces why they are best suited to lead the Nashville Creative Services team.”
Nanci Walker has joined We Are Hear and its partner peermusic as head of music publishing, film & TV, and R&R consultant, respectively, it was announced Monday (Oct. 8). She will report to We Are Hear founder Linda Perry, We Are Hear co-founder Kerry Brown, peermusic vp A&R Tuff Morgan and peermusic president Kathy Spanberger.
Prior to joining We Are Hear, Walker held multiple A&R positions at peermusic, UMPG, Columbia Records and Island Def Jam.
TaP Management, the U.K.-based company co-founded by Ben Mawson and Ed Millett, has moved its office from Venice Beach to Hollywood, it was announced Thursday (Oct. 10).
Along with the move, the firm also recently signed singer and actress Hailee Steinfeld, who joins a roster of clients that includes Lana Del Rey and Dua Lipa. Steinfeld recently released her single “Afterlife,” which is featured on her upcoming AppleTV+ series Dickinson.
