Syd Debuts First Solo Set ‘Fin’ on R&B/Hip-Hop Album Charts

The set follows Syd's success as frontwoman of The Internet.

R&B singer Syd is emerging with her debut album Fin. The set debuts on Billboard‘s Top R&B Albums and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts (dated Feb. 25) at Nos. 11 and 32, respectively, with 8,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Feb. 9, according to Nielsen Music. On the all-genre Billboard 200, it bows at No. 75. Fin also enters R&B Album Sales at No. 9 with 3,000 copies sold.

Two of the album’s tracks have already hit the top 10 of the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart: “All About Me” reached No. 6 (Jan. 28) and “Body” topped the Feb. 11-dated tally.

Although she has released her first album as a solo artist, Syd is no stranger to Billboard‘s charts, having previously charted as a member of hip-hop group The Internet, whose album Ego Death debuted and peaked at No. 9 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in July 2015.

As previously reported, The Internet embarks on an 11-date tour Feb. 18.
