‘Suits’ Finale Dominates The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Songs Chart

The nine-season legal drama holds the top three of the September 2019 list, led by Ed Sheeran's "Perfect."

Despite the return of multiple shows to the air via the fall TV broadcast season beginning at the end of September, The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Songs chart for September 2019 is led by a trio of songs featured in a show was in the midst of finishing up its final season.

Three songs from USA Network’s Suits rule Top TV Songs, led by Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” which appeared in the long-running show’s series finale on Sept. 25.

“Perfect,” a Billboard Hot 100 for Sheeran for six weeks in late 2017 and early 2018, reigns with 18,000 digital downloads and 39.3 million streams in September 2019, according to Nielsen Music.

It’s followed by a pair of alternative songs that were featured in the penultimate episode and finale of Suits, respectively. Imagine Dragons’ “Natural” comes in at No. 2 (7,000 downloads, 21.6 million streams), while Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida” debuts at No. 3 (3,000 downloads, 13.8 million streams).

Suits ended with its ninth season on Sept. 25; the legal drama initially premiered in June 2011, with its final season kicking off last July.

Top TV Songs’ highest-ranking song not from Suits? Freya Ridings’ “Lost Without You,” which appeared in the Sept. 1 episode of Starz’s Power. Ridings’ track sold 7,000 downloads and was streamed 3.5 million times in September.
