Sting & Shaggy’s European Summer Trek Races Past $10 Million For Strong Hot Tours Start
Sting and Shaggy grace the latest Hot Tours tally.

Pop/rock legend Sting and reggae superstar Shaggy grace the latest Hot Tours tally (see below), as the first leg of their 44/876 Tour impacts the list.
According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, the dynamic duo grossed $10.8 million on the road during the trek’s opening leg in Europe, playing to 132,155 fans across the continent, spread across 23 sold-out shows. That’s enough for a No. 4 placement on the Hot Tours tally dated Sept. 8, 2018, which is led by Celine Dion’s run of comeback dates.
Sting and Shaggy toured extensively throughout Europe, playing a wide variety of theaters, outdoor parks, and historical sites. Both the smallest and largest shows of the tour were at Italian venues, in Trani (2,210) and Verona’s Arena di Verona (12,468). But Rosenheim, Germany delivered the biggest gross of the summer, pulling in $1.1 million at Mangfallpark on July 14. The duo also toured through Slovakia, Greece, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands.
While Hot Tours only tracks grosses tied to individual artists, Sting & Shaggy also played eight festivals this summer, outside of the $10.8 million earned from their own headline shows.
The 44/876 tour was in support of their album of the same name, released via Cherrytree/A&M/Interscope Records on April 20. The title refers to the country calling code for Sting’s native U.K. and the North American area code for Shaggy’s home in Jamaica. The set has spent 12 nonconsecutive weeks atop the Reggae Albums chart.
The summer European tour was promoted by Live Nation and will come to North America this fall, kicking off on September 14 at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Fla.
