Spotify Has Video and Podcasts Now: Here’s What You’ll See and Hear
Spotify's long-trumpeted video and podcast features are finally here for users to pour over. And there's a lot of content to begin with.

Spotify’s long-trumpeted video and podcast features are finally here for users to pour over. And there’s a lot of content to begin with.
Billboard can reveal a sprawling — though by no means exhaustive — list of U.S. partners and shows, which includes content from Viacom, Vice Media, Nerdist, Condé Nast Entertainment, NBC, BBC, Slate, Harper Collins, Blucora Media (home to the Stuff You Should Know podcast) and Conan O’Brien’s TeamCoco, among others.
Spotify Is (Finally) Ready to Launch Those Videos: Product VP Shiva Rajaraman on What to Expect
The video and additional audio content that Spotify has lined-up will be free initially, as part of a robust new multi-media content strategy designed to give users more reasons to stay plugged in. The new content is being rolled out to Android users first, with an iOS update reportedly coming next week. Spotify has not given a timeline for the desktop version.
To access the content, users must click on the new “Your Library” icon in the main menu. It replaces “Your Music.” There you’ll find familiar playlists, stations, songs and albums, plus a new item simply called “Shows.” Clicking on that leads to a “Featured Shows” slider that includes partners like the BBC, the Daily Show and other shows via Comedy Central, and Buzzfeed, among others. Below that slider are buttons for video or audio, which lead you to the troves of content.
The video library has things like the Epic Rap Battles series, content from Ellen DeGeneres and the vast Disney empire (ESPN, Jimmy Kimmel Live, etc). The audio shows, which appear to be mostly podcasts, include Stuff You Should Know, Nerdist, Radiolab, Freakonomics Radio, Welcome to Night Vale, and many others.
