Spotify’s Global Head of Advertising Brian Benedik to Step Down

The New York-based executive will step down after six years at the streaming service.

Spotify global head of advertising sales Brian Benedik will depart his post in September, Billboard can confirm.

The New York-based executive will step down after six years at the streaming service, as Music Business Weekly reported (via The Information). He joined Spotify in 2013 to head North American sales, and was promoted to his current title, the first of its kind at the streaming giant, in 2015.

Benedik's exit comes on the heels of the departure of another senior executive, global head of publishing Adam Parness, earlier this month.

Prior to Spotify, Benedik served as president of Katz 360, the digital unit of Katz Media. As of now, it is unclear where Benedik is headed next, or the reasons for his departure.
