SoundCloud announced Thursday (March 8) an expansion of its invite-only Premier monetization and development platform for creators that includes expanded editorial, marketing and promotional opportunities.
Among the new offerings, Premier creators are now eligible for to be featured on the “Fresh Pressed” new music feature on SoundCloud’s homepage and spotlight promotions across SoundCloud social media channels, email newsletter placements and platform-wide audio and video promo spots. Additionally, the artists will be considered for SoundCloud-sponsored promotions, brand partnerships and live showcases at events such as SXSW.
Premier members also have dedicated community support, as well as additional educational resources to help them “maximize their opportunities,” according to a press release.
“SoundCloud has seen accelerated growth over the last two quarters, and as we grow, we want to ensure creators on the platform grow with us,” said CEO Kerry Trainor in a statement. “As direct monetization empowers more artists every day, only SoundCloud Premier combines a leading revenue share with tools for creators to directly interact with their fans and, now, opportunities to access SoundCloud’s global listener base.”
The Premier platform boasts alumni across genres, including Chance the Rapper, Alina Baraz, Lil Yachty and Metro Boomin, among others. Soundcloud plans to rapidly expand its user-base in 2018 and encourages creators to express their interest in the program at soundcloud.com/you/premier.
