SoundCloud has hired digital music veteran Mark Eisenberg as senior vice president, content partnerships. Previously the svp of strategic initiatives at non-profit collective rights management org SoundExchange, Eisenberg has been tasked with advancing SoundCloud’s global content licensing efforts and strengthening its relations with labels, publishers, PROs and collecting societies.
Eisenberg will officially join SoundCloud later this month where he’ll report to chief operating officer, Michael Weissman from the audio platform’s NYC office. His duties will also include working on SoundCloud’s strategic direction, developing new products and scoring new business opportunities.

At SoundExchange, Eisenberg was in charge of sourcing new applications for the collective’s rights management and royalty distribution platform. Prior to joining SoundExchange in late 2014, he was global head of content acquisitions at MixRadio, Microsoft’s mobile radio service. Earlier in his career, Eisenberg served as evp and head of business and legal affairs at Sony Music Entertainment’s Global Digital Business Group, in addition to work as an attorney at several law firms.
