Sony Music Latin has joined forces with Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning producer Javier Limón to discover new talent with a platform called Casita Limon intended to find, develop and promote an emerging generation of artists.
In conjunction with Limón — who’s the artistic director of Berklee’s Latino music-education program and has worked with renowned artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Joaquín Sabina and Alicia Keys — Casita Limon plans to launch a series of showcases at the Gibson Guitar Showroom in Miami, giving each new talent key exposure and experience in a live setting.
The first showcase kicked off Tuesday (Sept. 10) with talent including Casita Limon’s lead vocalist, Delfina Cheb (Argentina); Venezuela’s Nella, who has toured with Sanz and recorded with Juan Luis Guerra; multi-instrumentalist and singer Martin Guas (Argentina); and Limón Jr., who has recently released an album and toured the U.S. and Spain. Special guest Arthur Hanlon took the stage with the young band to perform a new version of Benny Moré’s bolero classic “Como Fue.”
