Sony Corp. has raised its operating profit estimate for its most recent fiscal year again, Reuters said over the weekend, citing a report by Nikkei.
Sony Upgrades Full-Year Financial Expectations
It would be the conglomerate’s third increase to its financial expectations in three months. Sony’s investor relations website did not show a latest statement on a forecast revision.
The report said that Nikkei, without naming its sources, cited a new operating profit forecast of $2.52 billion (300 billion yen) for the fiscal year ended March 31, compared with $568 million (68 billion yen). It cited higher revenue from display sensors used in mobile phones and the PlayStation. The figure would be the company’s highest operating earnings since 2008, according to Nikkei.
Sony, led by CEO Kaz Hirai, is scheduled to report its full-year results on Thursday (April 30). The company had just on Wednesday raised its earnings estimates for the fiscal year.
