Hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg has struck an exclusive, five-year touring deal with TEG MJR, the U.K.-based promotion arm of Australian live entertainment, ticketing and tech giant TEG, Billboard can reveal.
Through the new, multi-million-dollar arrangement, stuck in collaboration with MPI Artists, TEG MJR will promote all Snoop Dogg tours globally outside of North America, beginning with U.K. and European dates on Snoop’s 2022 World Tour.
That pan-European trek is slated to kick off Feb. 20 at Telenor Arena, Oslo, and includes rescheduled sold-out shows at London’s 02 Arena, Dublin’s 3 Arena, and Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome Arena.
Expect Snoop to road-test new material. The West Coast rap legend recently released “CEO” and he’ll drop the new single and video this Friday (April 2) for “Roaches In My Ashtray.” Both are lifted from his forthcoming album From tha Streets 2 tha Suites, the followup to 2019’s I Wanna Thank Me.
“Snoop Dogg is a hip-hop pioneer and one its greatest live performers,” comments Geoff Jones, CEO of TEG, on the new pact. “He has won an astonishing number of awards and nominations and we are thrilled to be able to bring the man and his music live to fans the world over for the next five years.”
TEG MJR CEO Richard Buck signed the agreement with Snoop’s international agents Julian O’Brien and MPI’s Minneapolis-based partner Nabil Ghebre, who’ve been working closely with the rapper’s business partner Bobby Dee.
“We are excited about this five-year international partnership with TEG and to continuously come overseas to connect with our fans around the world,” adds Bobby Dee, co-owner of the music entertainment company Uncle Snoops Army.
TEG, parent of Australian ticketing giant Ticketek, TEG Dainty and a slew of other businesses, acquired U.K.-based MRJ Group in 2019. Bristol-based MRJ operates multiple venues across the U.K. including Tramshed in Cardiff and The Mill in Birmingham and, prior to the pandemic, promoted about 2,000 shows annually.
