The Smashing Pumpkins are embarking on their Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour this summer and they announced the addition of three more tour dates in Canada on Wednesday (May 9). The new shows are for London, Ontario on August 9th, Calgary, Alberta on September 8, and Edmonton, Alberta on September 9. It has also been confirmed that alt-rockers Metric will serve as the supporting act.
The Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour is the first Smashing Pumpkins tour in nearly 20 years to feature its founding members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha. The band’s longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder will also be on board for the 39-city arena tour, which kicks off in Glendale, Ariz. on July 12.
Another exciting development for the band occurred Tuesday (May 8) when Corgan took to Instagram and teased the video for the band’s upcoming single “Solara.” The song will be on their eight-track comeback album and Corgan said it’s “coming soon.”
Tickets for the recently added shows go on sale to the general public May 14 at 10 a.m. local time.
