Slayer-Branded NASCAR Chevy to Debut at Bristol Motor Speedway Race
The team-up with JJ Yeley and Rick Ware Racing on the black #54 Chevy will debut at Bristol Motor Speedway

Slayer will finally have a race car that matches the furious pace of their legendary speed metal attack. The band, in the midst of their final world tour, have teamed with Rick Ware Racing as the primary sponsors of the #54 entry at Saturday’s (Aug. 17) Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, with veteran driver J.J Yeley behind the wheel.
“It’s exciting and awesome that Rick and the boys are wearing the Slayer banner making us a part of NASCAR history!” said Slayer bassist/singer Tom Araya in a statement, with guitarist Kerry King adding, “NASCAR racing and Slayer have a lot in common. Both are extremely fast, intense and aggressive. I can think of nothing more rad than seeing the Slayer logo on Rick’s car with JJ behind the wheel. I’m sure Disciples of everyone involved will be completely stoked on the bond between these two fierce entities.”

Driver Yeley was equally psyched to get behind the wheel of the all-black Camaro at the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race event. “I am super pumped to have the legendary metal band Slayer on my Rick Ware Racing No. 54 Chevrolet for one of the greatest races of the year, The Bristol night race!” he said. “Being able to showcase the legacy that Slayer has created over the past 40 years is a true honor.”
Slayer recently announced new dates for the final leg of their 18-month The Final Campaign tour, which will kick off on Nov. 2 in North Carolina and run through a Nov. 30 gig at The Forum in Los Angeles.
