Silvestre Dangond Collects Seventh Straight Top 10 on Tropical Airplay Chart

Silvestre Dangond's "Vallenato Apretao" ascends 14-10 on the Tropical Airplay chart dated Jan. 18.

Silvestre Dangond’s “Vallenato Apretao” ascends 14-10 on the Tropical Airplay chart dated Jan. 18. It’s the Colombian’s seventh total and straight top 10 on the list which began in 2016 with the one-week ruler “Materialista.”

Co-produced by Dangond alongside Andres Castro, “Vallenato” climbs to the top tier in its ninth week frame despite a 1% dip in plays in the week ending Jan. 12, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It’s Dangond’s second charted title without a collaborative act.

Meanwhile, a second title by Dangond remains strong on the tally: “Vivir Bailando,” with Maluma, continues its top 10 rank after 48 weeks (a total of 50 weeks), climbing 8-7 in the current chart week.

Dangond last reigned Tropical Airplay in 2018 with the eight-week champ “Cásate Conmgo,” a duet with Nicky Jam.

Here is a look at Dangond’s entire consecutive top 10 collection on Tropical Airplay:

Song Title, Artist (if other than Dangond), Peak Position, Peak Date

“Materialista,” with Nicky Jam, No. 1, Jan. 16, 2016

“Ya No Me Duele Más,” featuring Farruko, No. 2, Feb. 25, 2017

“Por Un Beso De Tu Boca,” No. 8, Aug. 5, 2017

“Cásate Conmigo,” with Nicky Jam, No. 1, Jan. 27, 2018

“Vivir Bailando,” with Maluma, No. 2, April 13, 2019

“El Mentiroso,” with Gente de Zona, No. 9, May 18, 2019

“Vallenato Apretao,” No. 10, Jan. 18, 2020

The Return of Los Cangris:  Meanwhile, Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee, better known as Los Cangris, make their first collaborative debut in 2020 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart as “Muévelo” arrives at No. 5 on the survey dated Jan. 18.

The Play-N-Skillz-produced track marks Jam and Yankee’s first collaborative effort in over 20 years, which interpolates Ini Kamoze’s 1994 hit “Here Comes the Hotstepper,” a two-week Billboard Hot 100 ruler.

“Muévelo” opens with 1,000 downloads sold in the week ending Jan. 9. It’s the 27th top 10 for Nicky and the 39th for Yankee who continues at the helm (tied with Ozuna) for the most top 10s on the list.
