Shakira Returns to Top Latin Albums Chart With ‘Shakira In Concert: El Dorado World Tour’

As Shakira’s live soundtrack Shakira In Concert: El Dorado World Tour arrives at No. 18 on the Top Latin Albums chart dated Nov. 23, the Colombian lands her first debut on the list since 2017, when El Dorado ruled for five weeks.

The concert documentary, released via Sony Music Latin, arrived in cinemas worldwide on Nov. 13 for a one-night event and documents the 2018 El Dorado World Tour.

The live album bows with a little over 2,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Nov. 14, according to Nielsen Music. Most of its initial sum stems from streaming activity.

Top Latin Albums ranks the most popular Latin albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Shakira In Concert logged 2,000 SEA units, which equates to 2.9 million audio on-demand streams for its songs in its first tracking week.

The soundtrack is Shakira’s third live album chart entry. It follows former two-week ruler MTV Unplugged (April 2000) and En Vivo Desde Paris (No. 2 peak high; Dec. 2011).

Four of Shakira In Concert’s tracks have claimed the crown on Hot Latin Songs: “Tú” (1 week at No. 1, 1999), “La Tortura,” featuring Alejandro Sanz (25 weeks, 2005), “Hips Don’t Lie,” featuring Wyclef Jean (eight weeks, 2006), “Loca,” featuring El Cata (1 week, 2010) and “Chantaje,” featuring Maluma (11 weeks, 2016).

Concurrently, Shakira In Concert bows at No. 3 on Latin Pop Albums, her tenth top 10.
