In the age of coronavirus, artists from around the world are finding new ways to reach their fans with live music. Now, a star-studded lineup of artists are bringing their music to a brand new livestream series.
On Monday (May 4), marketing company Truideation announced their new partnership with livestreaming platform Twitch and The Recording Academy’s charitable foundation MusiCares for a new live concert series, “Sessions.”
Taking place every Wednesday in the month of May, each of the two-hour live festivals will benefit MusiCares’ coronavirus relief fund.
A number of big name stars have already announced their involvement in the series.
For the first show taking place on Wednesday (May 6), Cam, Skip Marley, Steve Earle, Brandy Clark and DJ Twin Shadow are set to appear. On the subsequent streams, taking place May 13, 20 and 27, artists like Allie X, Julia Michaels, Bryce Vine, Cavetown, Dawes, Empress Of, Hanson, Kat Cunning, MAX, Randy Rainbow and Salt Cathedral will also perform.
Each of the streams will be hosted by TV host and radio DJ Matt Pinfield, who will introduce each of the acts, and conduct interviews with some of the artists.
The first “Sessions” livestream will take place on The Grammys’ Twitch channel on May 6 at 4 p.m. ET.
