Sony/ATV Music Publishing along with Chainsmokers manager Adam Alpert are launching a joint venture music publishing company, dubbed Selector Songs, which will focus on pop and EDM talent.
The deal extends Sony/ATV’s relationship with Alpert as it already cut a publishing deal with the Chainsmokers, whose hit “Selifie” has sold around 900,000 downloads in the U.S. The move also comes on the heels of Alpert forming Disruptor Records, a joint venture label with Sony Music Entertainment.

“Adam Alpert is a clued-up young businessman who has demonstrated with The Chainsmokers that he can turn his extensive knowledge of the dance music world into real commercial success,” Sony/ATV chairman/CEO Martin Bandier said in a statement. “We at Sony/ATV are excited to now be partnering with him in this new venture and look forward to enjoying more hits together.”
Alpert, who also has his own management company Disruptor Management, has a background in hospitality, nightclubs and was a founding partner in 2009 in a management company specializing in DJs and producers.
“Selector Songs will be both a home for the most exciting and established producers, songwriters, and musicians as well as an incubator for the burgeoning talent of the future,” Alpert said in a statement. “Rounding out the one-stop shop of Disruptor Management and Disruptor Records, Selector Songs will focus on long-term artist development and modern recipes for success.”
