SeatGeek has announced that it is working with Snap Inc. to allow fans to purchase live event tickets directly within the Snapchat app.
Snapchat first tested the e-commerce capabilities back in February for Los Angeles Football Club’s home game against D.C. United on May 26. Fans were able to buy tickets through viewing the Major League Soccer (MLS) club’s Snapchat story, swiping up, selecting their tickets and checking out — all within the app in a few taps.
“We’re stoked to partner with Snap to bring ticket buying to Snapchat for the first time,” said SeatGeek co-founder Russ D’Souza. “SeatGeek’s mission is to get fans to more live events. We see Snapchat as an incredible opportunity for teams and artists to increase discovery of their events, while also potentially rewarding their most dedicated fans with exclusive offers.”
SeatGeek and Snapchat will be working together to add more events to the integration in the coming months.
