Christian Nodal’s ‘Se Me Olvidó’ Hits Top 10 on the Latin Airplay Chart

Christian Nodal’s “Se Me Olvidó” enters the top 10 on the Latin Airplay

Christian Nodal’s “Se Me Olvidó” enters the top 10 on the Latin Airplay chart (dated May 9) with a notable 14-7 hike in its seventh week. The song soars up the chart through a 24% surge in audience impressions (to 9 million) earned in the week ending May 3, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

The tune was co-written with Edgar Barrera and Geovani Cabrera and released March 6 via Fonosiva/UMLE; almost seven months after it was previewed through a 60-minute snippet on social media back in October.

“I’m extremely happy and grateful to my followers,” Nodal tells Billboard. “’Se Me Olvidó’ is a song I was eagerly looking forward to share because it’s an organic fusion of country with mariachi. I was a bit doubtful, so having this great reception and being No. 1 in radio feels great. I’m super thankful.”

With “Se Me Olvidó” Nodal secures his eighth top 10 and first of 2020. It follows the No. 6 peak “De Los Besos Que Te Di,” the 21-year-old’s longest charting title (22 weeks).

Notably, along with Alejandro Fernández’ “Te Olvidé” which also peaked at No. 7 on the previous chart week (dated May 2), Nodal’s “Se Me Olvidó” becomes the second regional Mexican title to rank in the survey’s top 10 since the Feb. 8-dated tally, when the chart experienced a wave of regional Mexican presence with acts Banda Carnaval, Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga, Calibre 50 and Banda Los Sebastianes de Mazatlán, Sinaloa charting at No. 4, No. 5. No. 6, and No. 7, respectively.

“Se Me Olvidó” concurrently hits No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay and dethrones Alejandro Fernández’s two-week reign with “Te Olvidé.” It’s Nodal’s first No. 1 in seven months. It follows “De Los Besos Que Te Di” which clocked seven weeks at the summit in 2019.

Nodal secured his maiden leader with 2017’s “Adios Amor.” Since then he has placed a total of eight No. 1s on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart.
