Sara Clemens Resigns as Pandora Chief Operating Officer

Pandora’s Chief Operating Officer Sara Clemens has announced she will be leaving the company after more than two years with the digital streaming service.
The news came on Tuesday (Dec. 20) in a 8-K report to investors alerting them of Clemens’ resignation. It stated she will remain employed by Pandora “for a transition period to be determined.” As a publicly traded company, Pandora is obligated to file an 8-K for any new event that may be important to shareholders, such as the departure of a high ranking executive.
“Since joining the company in early 2014, Sara has made many significant contributions to our business, driving the growth of our international operations, our live events / Ticketfly ventures and our Artist Marketing Platform,” a rep for Pandora said in a statement. “She has played a pivotal role in changing the perception of Pandora among the music industry, strengthening our position as a true partner to music makers.”
Clemens was recently ranked in Billboard’s Women in Music list of the 100 most powerful women in music for her work overseeing Pandora’s purchases of the data company Next Big Sound (in May, terms undisclosed) and Ticketfly (October, $450 million) — both of which were made to offer artists and labels greater tools to market tickets directly to fans. She also ran spearheaded other artist-friendly resources and innovations to help advance the company’s relationships in the industry.
