Rosalía & The Weeknd Score First Top 10 on Tropical Airplay Chart With ‘La Fama’

“La Fama,” where The Weeknd takes the role of a featured act, is the pair’s second team-up following Rosalía’s guest turn on a remix of The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” in December 2020. The new track, which was released Nov. 16, 2021, arrives in the top 10 boosted by a 99% increase in audience impressions, to 2.1 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 23, according to MRC Data.

WKAQ, WODA and WVJP are the three stations giving the song the most audience in the tracking week, and five of the top six stations were in San Juan, P.R., led by WKAQ (513,000 impressions).

The Spanish-language song is the lead single from Rosalía’s upcoming third studio album Motomami (Columbia Records). Meanwhile, The Weeknd continues his Latin music growth. His performance on Maluma’s “Hawai” earned him his first No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs as the song took over the list for nine weeks starting on the Sept. 12, 2020, survey.

“La Fama” hits the top 10 on Tropical Airplay two months after it debuted, and has so far peaked, at No. 2 on the airplay, streams, and digital sales-blended Hot Latin Songs chart with only three days of sales and streaming data. The track registered 6.8 million streams in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 18 in its opening day. It has since collected 30 million U.S. clicks and 3,000 downloads as of the tracking week ending in Jan. 20.

It holds at No. 30 for a second week on Hot Latin Songs.
