Roblox Hires Spotify Exec Karibi Dagogo-Jack as Head of Music Partnerships

The company also appointed Todd Lichten as head of entertainment and bestowed new titles on several other partnerships execs.

Roblox is strengthening its global partnerships team with the addition of two new department leads: Karibi Dagogo-Jack as head of music partnerships and Todd Lichten as head of entertainment.

Dagogo-Jack joins Roblox from Spotify, where he served as head of music business development; he also previously led business development at Interscope Records. In his new role, he will oversee and establish new strategic relationships with leading acts including artists, labels, managers, publishers and producers.

As head of entertainment, Lichten will foster and build strategic relationships with major film and TV studios, talent and digital media brands. He comes to Roblox from Meta, where he served as head of emerging content and led programming for tentpole events including Graduation 2020 with Oprah Winfrey, Facebook’s first-ever joint production with Instagram.

Additionally, in what the company is billing as a “strategic expansion” of the team, several existing Roblox partnerships executives have received new titles and been charged with leading specific verticals. They include Winnie Burke, who has been named head of fashion and beauty partnerships, Arvind Jayaram, now head of account management and partnerships and Hayden Walling, who has been appointed head of sports partnerships.

In her new role, Burke focus on maintaining and forging relationships with upscale fashion houses and beauty brands; Jayaram will provide existing partners with best practices and tools to bring their intellectual property (IP) to the platform through the custom programs available on Roblox; and Walling will form and manage relationships with major sports leagues, athletes and sports teams.

According to a press release, over the past year, new partners have joined Roblox as existing partners have expanded their presence on the platform in a multitude of ways, including with virtual items (verch), pop-up limited experiences, persistent worlds and integration with top experiences. Top brands on Roblox include Gucci, Spotify, Warner Bros., Alo, NFL, Givenchy Beauty and Wimbledon.
