Rob Jonas Named CEO of P-MRC Data

Tech industry veteran Rob Jonas has been named CEO of P-MRC Data.

Tech industry veteran Rob Jonas has been named CEO of P-MRC Data, the industry’s leading source for global music and entertainment consumption data, behavior and trends powering the Billboard and Rolling Stone charts, it was announced today. In the role, Jonas will lead the joint venture formed in Oct. 2020 between Penske Media Corporation (PMC) and MRC, which is comprised of MRC Data (formerly Nielsen Music), Alpha Data and Variety Business Intelligence.

Working out of the company’s Los Angeles headquarters, Jonas will be responsible for unifying and expanding P-MRC Data’s portfolio of data products, creating increased value for both existing and new customers and partners and solidifying P-MRC Data’s role as the authoritative, independent data company for the music and entertainment industries.


A native of the U.K., Jonas comes to P-MRC from enterprise data company Foursquare, where, as chief revenue officer, he was responsible for all sales, partnerships, business development and international markets across the company’s entire product portfolio. He joined Foursquare in Mar. 2020 via a merger with geospatial data company Factual, where he served in the same role. Over the succeeding year, he completed the integration of the companies’ go-to-market teams.

Prior to Factual, Jonas worked as global CRO at PubMatic, vp and managing director EMEA at InMobi and director of strategic partnerships at Google in Europe. He has also worked in various commercial and technical roles at Yahoo!, idealab! and IBM.
