Although Rivers Cuomo is scheduled to perform at Andrew Yang‘s Yangapalooza rally Friday at the Brenton Skating Park in Des Moines, Iowa, the Weezer frontman is not endorsing the presidential candidate who wants to give $1,000 per month to every American adult.

Earlier this month, Cuomo asked on Twitter: “Would any of my musician friends like to join me for a set at @AndrewYang’s Nov 1 rally in Iowa?” — but the singer-guitarist deleted the tweet and a rep said he wasn’t available for comment.

Yangapalooza will precede the Democrats’ Liberty and Justice Celebration, formerly the Jackson-Jefferson Dinner, which Troy Price, Iowa’s party chairman, has called “the de facto starting gun for the sprint to the finish to the Feb. 3 caucuses.”

Barack Obama‘s appearance at the event helped catapult him to the presidency; Katy Perry sang on behalf of Hillary Clinton at the celebration in 2015.

Yang is in the lower tier of the remaining candidates, polling well behind former Vice President Joe Biden, Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders and others. In January, via Twitter, he thanked Cuomo for his support and called him a “true visionary.”

Fourteen candidates are expected to appear at Friday’s Liberty and Justice Celebration, and one campaign spokesperson promises “more musical performance announcements” for the event.
