Rex Orange County Rides ‘Pony’ to First No. 1 on Rock & Alternative Charts
Concurrently, each of the album's 10 track hit Hot Rock Songs, led by "10/10."

Rex Orange County’s Pony races in at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts dated Nov. 9, marking his first leader on both lists.
Pony earned 70,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 56,000 were via album sales.
The 21-year-old Brit, real name Alexander O’Connor, is the second act to score a first No. 1 on Top Rock Albums with a first charting title in 2019. AJR‘s Neotheater started atop the survey dated May 11 with 32,000 first-week units.
Pony also arrives at No. 3 on the all-format Billboard 200, marking the singer-songwriter’s first appearance. The set is his first on RCA Records.
Each of Pony‘s 10 tracks dot Hot Rock Songs, paced by lead single “10/10” at a new high of No. 6. Each of the songs rank within the tally’s top 30.
“10/10” concurrently bullets at its No. 17 best on the Alternative Songs airplay chart, having previously become Rex Orange County’s first top 20 on the list; his sole prior entry, “Loving Is Easy,” featuring Benny Sings, peaked at No. 27 in October 2018. “10/10” also rises 35-32 on Adult Alternative Songs and returns to its No. 21 high on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, up 14% to 2.9 million audience impressions.
