Red Rocks amphitheater is a bucket list venue for live music fans and artists and although shows and concerts are shut down because of the coronavirus, fans will now have a chance to experience a virtual concert series at the iconic venue presented by Visible, Verizon’s all-digital wireless carrier in the US.

“Red Rocks Unpaused,” a special virtual concert series, will take place over three nights, starting Sept. 1-3, featuring Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats with special guest Phoebe Bridgers on Sept. 1, Megan Thee Stallion, whose single “WAP” with Cardi B is currently No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, performing with co-headliner Lil Baby. Award-winning country artist Sam Hunt will close out the series on Sept. 3 with Brett Young.

“Red Rocks is an amazing venue that every artists wants to play,” Hunt tells Billboard, noting that he played a run of shows at the outdoor Amphitheater in 2017.  “With this show, it’s not just fans of country music — the headliners are some of the biggest artists right now. I just love that we can be a mood that evening and that’s how I feel like we fit into this lineup.”

Hunt hasn’t played a virtual concert since the pandemic began — he had to cancel his tour with Kip Moore that was scheduled to go out earlier this year — and said he plans to play new material from the Southside album which came out earlier this year.

“We would just put the set list together — we’ll play a few songs from my first record and I’m really looking forward to playing some of the new songs,” Hunt said. “Considering all that’s going on, being able to play in any format is a plus. I’ll take it. I’m glad to be  a part of the lineup.”

The show features a number of interactive features — audience chat messages will be displayed on the faces of the Red Rocks for artists to see and the Audience will have the ability to help set off pyrotechnics, as well as control the lighting and even vote on the concert’s finale

“Consumers and fans are craving connection and community, more than ever before,”said Minjae Ormes, CMO at Visible in a press release “With music at the heart of our brand, we’re now applying that same thinking to this concert series, and redefining the future of concerts.”

Performances kick off each night at 7:00 p.m. Pacific. Fans can tune-in free of charge via Twitter’s Live Event Page and visiblexredrocks.com.
