RECORDS Nashville has named Josh Easler as executive vice president of promotion and commercial strategy, and Joe Fisher as executive vp of the label. Both will report to RECORDS, LLC co-founder and partner Barry Weiss.

Following the departure of Ash Bowers as RECORDS Nashville president earlier this year, the label is shifting to a co-head policy. A rep tells Billboard there are no plans to fill a president-level role at the company.

Easler will oversee all radio promotion and commercial strategy, including all DSPs and commercial platforms. Easler previously served as vice president, promotion at Sony Nashville imprint Arista Nashville. Easler worked in country radio in Boston prior to joining Sony Music Nashville as an RCA regional in 2006. In 2011, he was named national director of promotion for RCA and in 2016, transitioned to Arista as vice president, promotion. He helped Matt Stell earn two No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hits including “Everywhere But On” and “Prayed For You,” for RECORDS Nashville/Arista Nashville.

Additionally, Stell is now solely a RECORDS Nashville artist. Others on the RECORDS Nashville roster include Erin Kinsey, George Birge, and Chris Bandi.

Meanwhile, Fisher will now oversee the signing, developing and cultivating of new artists for RECORDS Nashville. Fisher previously spent the majority of his career with Universal Music Group Nashville, where he rose the role of vice president, A&R. Most recently, Fisher was working with Justin Timberlake on his Villa 40 Nashville venture. Fisher also founded Boom Music Group, a publishing company with Keith Urban and Ross Copperman in 2017; Fisher relaunched Boom Music Group this year, serving as partner in the venture, with Shaina Botwin serving as senior director, A&R.

Weiss said of Easler and Fisher joining RECORDS Nashville, “We are so excited to be leveling up and raising the game with our efforts in Nashville and country music. I can’t think of two better executives to take us forward and achieve this task than Josh Easler and Joe Fisher. They’re both established superstars in their respective fields in country music with great pedigree and substantial track records.”

Easler said, “Barry has assembled one of the most dynamic teams in the business and an incredible roster of new talent. I’m excited to work with this amazing group of executives on breaking the next vanguard of country artists.”

Fisher echoed Easler, adding, “I’ve respected Barry from afar for my entire career. He’s a true music man and one of the industry’s most visionary executives. The only thing more impressive than his track record is his passion for music. When he called, there was only one answer. I’m immensely honored to join the RECORDS team and kick off this new chapter.”
