Next month’s Toronto International Film Festival has an official music partner. Streaming service Rdio has announced it is setting up a music hub at the 11-day event with giveaways, a listening station and live music, starting with a free Ellie Goulding show at the iconic Massey Hall.

The action begins opening weekend (Sept. 4-7) at the Rdio Music Zone, where local and international artists like Adrian X and DJ Misty are scheduled to perform free shows on the Steve and Rashmi Gupta Family Stage. Goulding is performing Saturday, Sept. 6.

Fans can visit the aptly dubbed Rdio House, located at 335 King St. W, to get Goulding tickets, hear live music, try out Rdio products and plug into a listening station to sample the service’s catalog of 25 million songs. There will also be free food and drinks, so that’s a plus.

“Canada is our second largest market and we continue to invest in creating powerful connections to music here,” said Rdio CEO Anthony Bay. “We’re thrilled to be part of the Festival, one of the country’s most important cultural organizations.”

Additional artists performing at the Rdio Music Zone include Elaquent, Jason Collett, John Kong, Maylee Todd, and Rich Aucoin. Performers co-presented by Festival Music House include BADBADNOTGOOD, Bobby Bazini, Diana, Eon The Soul Proprieter, and Reuben And The Dark.

TIFF runs from Sept. 4-14. Other sponsors at this year’s fest include Vimeo, Airbnb and HMV, among others.
