RCA Records Hires Dan Chertoff as VP, A&R

Dan Chertoff has been appointed vice president of RCA Records, where he'll be responsible for signing and developing new artists, the label announced Friday (Oct. 17).

Dan Chertoff has been appointed vice president A&R of RCA Records, where he’ll be responsible for signing and developing new artists, the label has announced. Chartoff will work out of RCA’s New York City headquarters and report to CEO Peter Edge and David Wolter, SVP of A&R.

“I am thrilled to welcome Dan to the RCA team,” said Edge. “His fantastic taste in music is in keeping with ours and will certainly bring new exciting artists to the label. We know he will be a great addition to our stellar A&R team.”

Chertoff arrives at RCA after a five-year stint at Steve Ralbovsky‘s Canvasback Music/Atlantic Records, where he rose to director of A&R. While at Atlantic, Chartoff signed alt-J and The Orwells. Prior to Canvasback/ Atlantic, Chertoff studied at the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at NYU’s Tisch School Of The Arts.

Said Wolter, “I am so happy to have Dan join me and the RCA A&R team. His knowledge, work ethic and impeccable taste will without a doubt bring forth great opportunities for new signings and the company as a whole.”

RCA’s active roster includes Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Pink, Foo Fighters and Kelly Clarkson.
